Senator Kerry’s Daughter and Senator Lugar’s Wife Both Arrested for DUI’s
(HMG) – Alexandra Kerry, daughter of former US presidential candidate, Senator John Kerry was arrested early Thursday in Hollywood, after being stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.
Alexandra, 36, a film producer and director, was detained shortly after midnight, Los Angeles Police Department officer Bruce Borihanh said. Kerry was arrested by officers after she allegedly “violated a traffic law which got their attention, according to TMZ. They then conducted a field sobriety test and it appeared she was under the influence of an intoxicant. Kerry refused to take Breathalyzer test, according to TMZ’s source but a later blood alcohol test showed a level of 0.06, under the legal limit of 0.08.
Meanwhile, Charlene Lugar, the wife of Senator Dick Lugar was arrested Wednesday night in a more serious incident, allegedly involving drunken driving and a hit-and-run in McLean, Virginia. Apparently, she hit an unattended car and then speed off. After she was arrested around 6:30 p.m., she was charged with a DUI and one count of hit-and-run. Senator Lugar issued a statement saying, “We are deeply sorry and embarrassed that this accident had occurred.”
