New reality show offers odd point of view[HMG] – If you like reality shows and those such as ‘Cops,’ boy, are you in for a treat;

The people who brought you ‘Fight Science’ and that intellectual banquet, ‘Human Wrecking Balls’ are now prepping an even crazier show which would let viewers see crime-fighting up close – by sharing the officer’s head.

Base Productions, which makes the other two shows, tells the Hollywood Reporter their new concept – code-named “POV-PD” – will use Bluetooth-sized cameras mounted on helmets to enable viewers to experience police work from the Cop’s point of view.

“We are truly excited to partner with Base, to give law-enforcement an outlet for their stories of heroism and self-sacrifice,” says Rick Smith, CEO and founder of Taser, who build the cameras.”’POV-PD’ will provide a new way to show the public the challenges and heroic acts of law enforcement, from the perspective of those who put their lives on the line every day.”

The new cameras are now being tested by several officers at the police department in San Jose, Calif. But they have suffered some really bad press after violent run-ins with numerous locals.

The people at Base are now in final talks with a large cable network to debut the show. If results improve – and the bad press dies down – that debut should happen in the Spring of next year…
